Alopecians that have lost a parent or both

I believe that for us alopecians that lose a parent it makes us realise that having alopecia is not really that bad, and that having a dead mum or dad is harder.I am 17 and have ha AT for three years and recently lost my dad out of the blue last year

Hi everyone. I lost my dad in 2007, the same day I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. He was 49. I just got AA this year, around spring/start of summer. I ended up shaving off what I had left in Sept.

I also lost my Mom in August. It has been 31 years as of August 7th. I only spent 7 years with her and have very few memories. Being a Mom has been wonderful....even though I grew up without one.

August 3rd was the 20-year-anniversary of my mother's death. I can't believe she's been gone over half my life! Miss you, mom!

Today is the anniversary of my mom's passing 25 years ago, prime of life from then untreatable acute myelocytic leukemia. Whew...were does the time go? Pretty fast. The first year is the hardest year by far when you pass all the milestones of birthdays and special events.

Hello all! I'm 20 and I lost my Mom when I was 12. But I've had AA since I was 3, so it didn't really affect my AA at all. And yea, AA sucks...but it's not comparable to the pain of losing a parent. So, I agree and join this group!

I'm currently 38. I lost my Mom when I was 7. She was 39. My AA showed up three years ago just after I turned 35.

Hi, everyone. I lost my mom when I was 20, and I developed alopecia about 20 years later. I am fascinated though, that I am about the age that she was when she was diagnosed with cancer. So, when my mom was just past 40 and bald from chemo, I am now 40 and bald from alopecia. I miss her a lot!
