Hi. Well for me I was unaware of the existence of such a condition until I was diagnosed in 2006. Now I notice everything and everyone. But I actually only know 2 other people here with the condition. At first I felt that I must be the only one on the island, but people have it and don't know what it is, and those who do know aren't very open about it. The thing is though, all the females here wear wigs and weaves, so even if many more people out there are suffering from Alopecia, it is not obvious.

I don't know about you, but when I was growing up, I never knew anyone with alopecia. I'm not saying it wasn't there, but I certainly see it (and other conditions) much more frequently than in the past. There has to be an explanation for all this.
