Bum Fluff!

I have AT since 2002/3. My derm told me very bluntly "dont expect to get any hair back, you will be bald for life" fine I excepted that, and even when I went to see the new derm at the hospital, he said the same, but in a far nicer way. I have got on with life, and never now wear a wig. Just before xmas, we in UK were having a sunny day, which is a rareity, and I was sitting at the table with the window behind me. My mother got very excited, and she said I had a "covering of bum fluff". In UK bum fluff, is a light covering of hair, like a baby gets.
With the help of a mirror, I did indeed have a light coating of very fine white hair, and quite a lot. Since then I see that it is still about, and can now feel it slightly. I also notice my scalp itches and needs a good scratch sometimes.
I was wondering if anybody else has this? Im not expecting a return of my former glorious red locks, but it would be intresting to find out.

Yes, I've had it. Sometimes it was the beginning of full regrowth, sometimes patches, & sometimes that was it.

My 17month old has bum fluff. Its been like that for a few weeks. Hoping for both o us that tis the start of regrowth. xxxx

First I have to say I love your wording of "bum fluff" :)
I have had that when I was younger my mom said my hair would come in white and then fall out and regrow my natural colour and when it started to regrow it would be so fast you wont believe it. She was right my hair either did that this time when it first started or would just come in my natural colour. Then it relapsed and I lost almost all of it now for the first time in my life (having it for 21 years) but very quickly I got white hairs and they are getting thickers and multiplying quickly but have no yet changed colour, so its different each time and for each person. But everyone Ive ever talked to about this in person have told me that the white hairs are regrowth and always a good sign!! Thats what I would like to believe!! Dont read too many posts on here researching it because it will just bum you out I find! I cried everyday when this first started bad and went to eyebrows and lashes, then I stayed off here for a while and am so much less stressed. Now I believe what I want and if I started reading something I dont like I click away! I really think a big part of it is mind over matter so just keep thinking you will get your pretty red locks back! Im waiting for the same thing.... I always thought I hated my red hair, now Id do anything for it!!!!
