I was diagnosed 17+ years ago with alopecia areata. This past year I had a bad bout (otherwise just spots here and there with injections being successful)so my dermatologist did a biopsy of my scalp. The only thng I came back positive for was Androgeneic Alopecia.....the dr. wants me to,start using Rogaine. Has anyone else had this diagnosis and been told to use Rogaine? Are there any negatives to using it? Thank you in advance for any advice or experiences that are shared. ☺️

Hello, my daughter used Rogaine initially but it really did not help. I do not really see any down sides to using it unless you begin to itch or burn. Give it a try.

Thanks for the feedback. I started using it this past Monday.....I guess time will tell.
Hi,i tried Rogaine 6 years ago. It did not help & my scalp had inflammation with pimples. Not a long term solution. I have gone through plenty of treatments to cure my alopecia totalis problem..None of the treatments work..until my friends introduced to me to tried the natural products based on nutritional immunology. I have fully recovered.
What did you do for nutritional immunology? I'm currently drinking moringa tea...I'll try anything. Thanks for anything you can share.

By consume these products, try to do some exercise, eat more healthy diet, & control ur emotion..Though i know is very hard to control the frustration of hair lost.

I have Androgenetic Alopecia since the age of 24 (I am 46) and used Rogaine but it was 20 years ago when I started to lose my hair, and it never did anything for me (I was also prescribed Androcur, but I was in Europe, it is not FDA approved here. It did not do anything either). In fact, one of the side effects of Rogaine is... hair loss! But maybe it has worked for other people? Personally, the moment I started to stop worrying and stressing about my hair, it helped a lot - easier said than done though - and stopping using chemicals as much as I can, natural products, being very careful of which shampoo and conditioner I use, the food I eat etc. (I don't want to write brands names here as I guess we are not allowed to and should not promote products?). I have been taking an extremely good care of my hair for the last 20 years, and patience has allowed me to improve their look and strength (stopping the loss and a bit of regrowth). The improvement is about 20% better than before. Not much in 20 years will you say, but I am proud to have not given up on them, because I would probably have much less hair now! This said, it still takes time for them to grow - but they do - and the look I currently have does not satisfy me yet, so I wear volumizers or wigs. I have the hope that in 1 or 2 years from now, I will be able to show my hair as they are. But I am not sure yet. I just keep taking good care of them. Hope this helps you!
