Thanks. That was very helpful. I could relate to knowing I am smart and beautiful, but somehow having alopecia affect my self esteem . Also about being aware of other people’s views and jokes about wigs and feeling like, well what about the people with health issues that wear wigs? Coming to terms with the fact that my hair was not falling out because I was lazy and would not grease my scalp or pay to have a hair dresser relax and wash my hair professionally, but due to a hereditary condition. This condition caused me to lower my standards and boundaries with men too because I thought that that was the only way I could get someone to want to connect with me physically. I have had to do a lot of work to deal with this because I have felt like I was being an imposter if I tried to put on a wig and be cute knowing it was not my real hair. I have wasted a lot of time and energy on this issue. I am grateful for your video, it is uplifting. You stress the fact that wigs are okay…go ahead and be cute…life is too short to not go around looking cute when I have a cute face, a cute figure (not to mention smart and kind…but we are talking about looks right now) and all I have to do is put on the “full cranial prosthesis” and keep it moving and enjoy life. I can relate to how you said the situation was with your husband. My boyfriend said he loves me anyway and that as far as he was concerned, I could just cut all of my hair off , but I do understand that men are visual creatures and I want to be considerate of him and give him something nice to look at. I liked how you talked about changing what we can and letting the rest of the issues we can’t change go. Thanks again for the video.
