After attending the first BGDL here in AZ in 2007...it became easier for me to go out in public without my head-covers, wigs, etc... It was an afternoon of LIBERATION! ;) This is an experience you don't want to pass up, with hair or without. To see and meet other women like yourself helps you to know you are not alone.

This was a great segment, well done Thea and your group of ladies did us very well! Kudos to you all!

Bald is Beautiful and friendships are grand. Hello to everyone who looks like me, we truly have it goin on in a positive and healthy way. I have no sad stories to tell, just that if you keep living long enough you will experience life (with the inspiration of God of course) through a new set of eyes, because you will start seeing with your heart and know that we are always growing and learning, so lets continue to Love and to be Loved through this awesome journey. Every now and then I like to come back for reflection. As this video brings me back to my reality, in knowing that although we may feel alone, there is a world of men, women and children sharing the same plight, as one another with Alopecia.
Let us wipe away our tears, comfort each other with support and strength to face this world.
No matter how much heartache, grief, loss, self loathing we have all experienced from time to time...the ultimate goal for all of us is to rebuild self esteem, and self worth.
Also the ability to confront our self as we are, and never, never conform for those who's judgment is impaired.
Free our insecurities, to become enriched through loving the image we face on a daily basis.
For we have such a long way to go, in this journey through life as we are.
Stand tall....be proud to be uniquely you.
Where is it written...that hair is the right way...simply because conditioning and society says so.
Wake up!
Mina
