Hey everyone, I just looked back on my first post here and guess what it said: "Really struggling tonight, looking back at me before I lost my hair, and I was so damn beautiful I can hardly believe…Continue

About Me:
Alopecia is the best thing that could have ever happened to me!

This was my first profile write up on Alopecia World and I wanted to leave it so people could see how quick we heal. Alopecia has made me cry every night when I take my hats off and wash my makeup off. I'm struggling with finding my identity again. I miss who I was, what I used to look like. I miss my hair in my fiancées face, or being able to feel sexy or get lovey without crying or turning the lights off like we're strangers. I'm sick of hurting him and assuming he thinks I look like an alien... I need some help in regaining my love for myself. Being bald has definitely changed my life...

Hey Keshia! I'm guessing that you're pretty new to this and I know how tough it is. I used to cry too and feel horrible when I washed my makeup off and took off my scarf, but after many years of being like this, I am 100% sure that I am still sexy and still beautiful, and I know this not just because my partner tells me this often! It changes your life, but it doesn't have to make it unbearable. I know it's hard but try to have fun with it, 'cos otherwise you'll go crazy wishing you looked the way you did... joke about it, play with the headscarves, wigs and hats, dress up for yourself - find a way to make it work for you. I know it sometimes seems like that's impossible, but it really does get easier with time. Good luck and I'm rooting for you! Miłka

Seeking some advice

Really struggling tonight, looking back at me before I lost my hair, and I was so damn beautiful I can hardly believe it. I feel like growing hair is like winning the lottery... does anyone know if people who have been completely bald have grown their hair back? I feel incomplete... I am afraid to go ahead with life, I feel fake without hair.
