Hi, I am starting Xeljanz soon (bloods being checked etc). While looking online like we all do I came across this website offering it in a topical. I like many Alopecians are vulnerable to a scam,…Continue

I just joined the group after being in a bit of denial. I have had 3 episodes of AA - my first at 22, second at 26 and now at 34. I was very lucky the first few times and recovered in 6 months back…Continue

Frida Rupert replied to AlopeciaDestroyedMyLife's discussion Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate): My experience on the trial
"Hi Rascalx2. Do you think taking a blood thinner (even a natural one) would be enough to offset the risk? Also, and I know I may seem overly optimistic, but the study on xeljanz suggesting a heightened risk was on RA patients with at least one…"

"Oh Carlie, so so very happy this is working out for you!!! And yes - it’s hard when options are available but most of the docs won’t or can’t tell this about this option we have now. I hope you are doing well and I love hearing…"

"I think it’s a Jak 2 inhibitor - “This beneficial effect could partially be attributed to the inhibition of NF-kB and the reduction in JAK2 phosphorylation (through the influence on the JAK/STAT pathway) by both 5-ASA and…"

"I just get most of my vitamins from piping rock or iherb, the supplement/vitamin industry is rife with under, over or totally different dosing so it a bit of a shot in the dark. I liked the high strength biotin I got from piping rock so just ordered…"

"Sorry to hear that... it seems to be rather high dosage for it to work in terms of diabetes -  3 x 500mgs a day (split up as gastro impacts can happen if taken all at once). It does seem to have some Jak inhibiting properties but alas probably…"

Frida Rupert replied to AlopeciaDestroyedMyLife's discussion Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate): My experience on the trial
"Hi Nat, If you have a compassionate GP, the blood tests are pretty much standard for immunosuppressant use, and many GP’s monitor the bloods of patients on methotrexate and cyclosporine- so they would be able to do the same tests on you (I…"

"Hi guys, just been looking at “natural” Jak inhibitors” - in particular, ones that focus on the Jak 3 pathway. I know Ruxo has a similar, if not slightly higher success rate than Tofacitinib. However, as it stands Ruxo is kindof…"

"Hi LJBMD, They are a bit slow at first with newcomers - once the order process gets going they are very good. Takes up to a week to contact, get order details right etc, then, usually another week to ten days for parcel to arrive. Once you are a…"

"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/26578790/ After the embolism study thought this study might cheer us all up- Jak inhibitors show some signs of slowing the aging process and reducing fragility in old age... two sides to every coin!!!"

"Hi TC, I genuinely feel that the benzos didn’t cause any of my hair loss- as I took them after hair was gone, and in response to sheds not before them. That said I will stay well clear now. I was mainly prescribed them as I’d have…"

"Is that an interaction between the z drugs and Benzos or is it from both desperately. I occasionally take Valium on really stressful days, but during my AU totally bald phase I had to take them more as I found leaving the house anxiety inducing....…"

Frida Rupert replied to AlopeciaDestroyedMyLife's discussion Xeljanz (Tofacitinib Citrate): My experience on the trial
"I agree with mastros, these studies are often done on compromised subjects. Many of the risk factors for xeljanz were developed from studies on people with RA, unresponsive to methotrexate (meaning reasonably serious RA) which puts them in a…"
