Hi Ray, I'm very well thankyou :)
Oh wow! I only get to stay here in the summer now as I'm at Uni in Manchester, but Sheffield is a fantastic place to come home to! :D

I had some blood tests come back and my thyroid T4 level was higher than normal. Can you remember wether you were hyper or hypo thyroid. Do you know what your result levels were ?
was just gonna ask. do you definitely think it was the thyroid problem as to why you lost hair ?
When your hair came back, how did it look ? I have the white stuff in my main patch with a bit of brown but my beard has had white hair (quite thick tho) for about a year and hasnt turned to original colour so just a bit concerned.
Hi Ray! How are you? I read that you have your hair back again, congrats! how long did it take to come back and how long did you have alopecia and what type of alopecia was it?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm very interested.
I signed up because of your post: "After the course of steroids I was given various blood tests which showed that I had a thyroid problem and I was therefore prescribed Thyroxin tablets to resolve the situation."
I think I have the same problem as you and I have Alopecia Universalis I wounder what the name of the Thyroxin tablets is? and how long did you take it ? and how much?
I'm going to visit a dcctor soon and I will ask him about these Thyroxin tablets that you used.
hey there. i like your page. i guess this is all really new to me, but i didn't think that a guy would have a problem with it like i do as a women. im sorry that i thought that and i see how stupid that was of me. i really am glad that i found this site because honestly i have never heard of this and i have never known anyone with it and it helps knowing that there are quite a few people that are dealing with this too. i can't wait to get to the point where it is not the biggest thought that i have and i can go back to normal life.
thanks,
jenn
We have the same hairstyle - I have a lot of regrowth too cut to a #1!! It's patchy at the front so I also have what looks like a receding hairline - not such a great look for a girl. Although at least I don't have the beard!
hi ray, its good to be here, ive been a member for a while, but dont get on as much as id like to. thanks for the welcome,........your pics are great, really suits you shaved....well done!......chat soon, xxxxmazza
Ray is your profile picture you or is it John Malkovich?! Having looked at your hairloss pictures I think the shaved head really suits you much better. It's interesting how alopecia can force us to change our image in ways we'd never have dared.
I like your positive attitude.
When I had my blood checked nothing was abnormal. I wonder if I should have my thyroid function retested....I think I'll just have to make another call to the good Dr.
