Hi,
I have returned to Vancouver after living in Australia and want to find an Alopecia support group. Do you belong to one or are you interesteed in joining one?
Chris
When I first started losing hair I definitely thought it was a bad box of hair bleach i'd bought... I experimented with my hair all the time, so I just started shaving it off underneath, like a half mohawk, to get rid of the spots, and ended up shaving higher and higher til I did finally just shave it all off. It didn't grow out well - white and bald patches - but yeah, I would definitely advise people shaving it all off - it's an emotional release and all... helps acceptance for those who do know what will happen and all. It rocks!
Hey Baldboi! so am I :)
How's it going? I'm pretty new to this site, but liking it much. Do you like ice-hockey? Vancouver Canucks got a couple of swedes, right?
Hi, thanks for the add.....
I'm still getting used to being in touch with people like me...I can't imagine how lonely people must have been before the internet!
Take care
Callie
Hi!Thank you for yoor"friends request"..unfortunately I won't be here very often...'cause I'm using a pc that's not mine...waiting for the "definitive one"...also...I'm busy ri-decorating my flat...the rent has been rised..my flatsharer left...and I need to find a new one...at least I can show her a nicer room...hoping to be over this ectic time soon. :)
For myself it had it's up and downs but nothing I couldn't handle.I had alopecia since I was 2 but only lost the majority of my hair when I was 12.I think it would be harder living 20 or 30 yrs of your life with hair and then waking up one morning with a bald spot or no hair at all.I personally think that the more comfortable all of alopecians get with ourselves the more comfortable everyone else will be because I do think alopecia becomes a life style.I'm sure it'll catch on as a trend to be bald sooner or later.
