im on the verge of getting a wig. i think bald is beautiful, i just dont think its the right option for me. anyways, i just have all of these questions about wigs and i cant seem to find a straight answer online.
how does a wig feel? is it itchy? do you have to wear a cap under it?
how secure does it feel? how do you keep it from blowing off in the wind? is gluing recommended? can i swim with a wig on? how did you feel transitioning into a wig? can you sleep in it? can you be intimate with a wig on? has it ever fallen off in public? are they comfortable enough to wear all day long?
any answers will help! thank you!

There are thousands of Discussions and Blogs and Videos on wigs here. Go to those places, look at titles, and you will see MANY opinions!

I buy cheaper synthetic wigs (usually Raquel Welch), and just adjust the elastic. Feels okay to me. I wear a scarf or cap to bed in winter, not summer. No high winds or swimming...scarves or hats for those. I think you will find different answers from different people...and you will add your own combination to this mix. Good luck! WE DO WHAT WE MUST DO. You can't have a true feeling about something if you never do it.

Hi, I've always worn real hair wigs and although they are expensive to buy they are really worth it. I have owned synthetic ones but I only really wear them if I fancy a style change as I find the elastic and mesh bases to be irritating on my skin (however they are a lot airier if you are in a hot country!) and I don't have to wear a cap or anything underneath it.

The wigs I wear on a daily basis are 100% comfortable and I've never had any problems with them at all. I find them totally secure and I do wear 3 small bits of tape on them, sometimes on a very windy day by the sea or the top of a hill I get a bit worried but it has never come off! They are so comfortable that I wear mine almost every waking hour of the day :)

I have slept in a wig (as I did find staying at a new partners house without one a scary thought!) but I wouldn't recommend it as the hair gets very knotted and the wig looses LOADS of lifetime in wearability. But YES you can be intimate wearing your new wig :)

I hope this helps, if you want to know anything else just drop me a message xx

Hi, (neverthoughtidenuphere) I just sent a friend request to you. I am older but have had difficulty in accepting a wig. I have some very nice ones and they look nice; I am having difficulty adjusting emotionally, if that makes sense to you. I would like to discuss this further and compare notes. I order from Paula Young catalog. I find them reasonable. I have not yet bought a human hair wig. Good luck with your decisions and hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, I am a wigaholic so I hope that I can help you. The more that you wear a wig, the more that you get used to it. At first, for me, it was itchy. Now, I shave my head so because of that, I do not wear a cap or anything. Back when I had hair, I wore a mesh wig cap. When you have a bald head, I feel like the wig stays on well. I've walked in very high winds, and the wig hasn't ever come off. I wear a wig to work, but by the time I get home, I am ready to take the wig off so that is usually about 11 hours. I don't sleep in a wig because I don't like it when they tangle. There are wigs that you can wear with tape or adhesive so you might look into that if you are concerned with it being secure. I would suggest that you join wigsupport.com. We have covered all of those topics on that site, probably many times. You can do a search for "swim", and see all the past posts about it.
Good luck!

Great advice Alliegator. Thanks for sharing that. I am discovering the world of wigs also.
