Well its been almost 2 years since i spotted my first patch (on my beard), still havent come to terms with it, still wearing a hat everyday, still staying indoors as much as possible, and still praying someone will find a cure for this awfull disease.

i have had some regrowth over the last 6 months but still getting new patches, although i do have more hair than i did 6 months ago. i know cos ive took 100s of photos and im constantly comparing them!

i feel like ive wasted the last 2 years, and my life now is 100% different to what it was before the alopecia. Im now single and a recluse hiding this alopecia from anyone who dosnt know me.

Anyway hope this cheered you up!

one question, if and when it comes back does it come back slowly? or instantly?

You had that lovely lady...hope she is still around, or that you remembered how you got her, or how you lost her so you can use the info for the next relationship. Get out of that house, because you are missing life. Or, go back to college so you'll have a good excuse to show the world for why you have no social life...ha ha. The hair will be gone anyway, so accomplish some great stuff during the alopecia years that you can talk about later. Who knows? Maybe you will discover The Greatest Dessert on Earth, or make the Biggest Superbowl Sandwich Ever!

Oops...scratch that. You are UK: no Superbowl today for you. Make the Biggest British Sandwich Ever, instead!
Maybe you need some bald UK pals to hang out with, yes?

haha Superbowl is on tv 2nite even in the UK. And the lovely lady you refer to ended it because of the Alopecia, so not so lovely in the end.

Thanks Alice, your right, its good that i didnt invest more time in the ex GF but the problem was the timing. She ended it when 6 month pregnant with our 2nd child. Which was 2 months after the Alopecia started.

And as for dating i just dont think i could! My self esteem is too low to be of any use to a woman at the moment.

Hey Shane, I agree with Alice. I think you're a bit of alright too. Does this help? :)

But kidding aside, take it from One Who Knows: nobody else (of any note) actually gives a toss about whether you've got hair or not. They're much more interested in what you're like inside, as a person (luckily for me!) - so get out there and single-handedly stop your local from closing, act like you used to, and start living again - how many years d'ya think you've got in which to have fun???

Mine's a pint of cider... hic!

Are you flirting with me Norm? Im looking at that Beard rather enviously! Thanks for the kind words everyone, but i guess everyone deals with stuff differently thats what makes us all unique. I can only be me unfortunately
