Is anyone else getting spammed on this site? I just got an email saying that some other user read my profile and is "interested" in me and wanted me to send them a picture...I got kinda creeped out. Is anyone else having run-ins with creepy and/or fake users?

Well, there is a new gal (maybe it it a guy? Or predator?) sending the same note to everyone asking them to contact her at a non-AW e-mail, without the supervision and safeguards of this site. You never know what can happen when you use your real name, city and e-mail on anything online. We also had a couple of guys last summer putting on doctored photos to look like they were bald, and showing themselves as multi-talented, exceedingly handsome or into every sport at once in high school. They got bumped off AW. Report suspicious links to rj and Cheryl as alerts, especially if you see someone soliciting females or young children to correspond off of AW. I hate that strangers can check out our photos without signing up and leaving their own info for rj and Cheryl to investigate.

Sorry for the experience. I didn't experience anything of this sort. Perhaps you report the issue to the admin: on the menu MEMBERS tick REPORT ISSUE. Hope you are fine nevertheless - and had a wish come true on 111111.

yyyeeesssss!!!!OMG! I was stupid enough to fall for it. I wish I would have read this before reading my emails tonight! I just figured that she was shy. I am so mad at myself for being computer ignorant :( I wonder what is going to happen now ? :-/

Using the blogs, discussions, profile pages and chats on here should be sufficient until you really get to know someone better. Also see what they say to others, how much they reveal about themselves, how much they pry without really listening to your AW conversations, etc. If someone solicits ONLY those with bald photos, be cautious. Ask Mary what she found out. This site is worldwide, and anyone can see your photos when you add them: old, young, any country, any sex. So, maybe less provocative photos? Nickname unrelated to your real name? Country only?

thanks for the tip! I'm usually pretty internet-paranoid. I guess I assumed this site was more private than that :/

feel kosy@hotmail.com got to me as friend request via my email, did not appear here on aw as request. Must have hacked my email-address that is stored here. Unknown email go into the dust. Enjoy our fellowship here.
