Saw a fellow alopecian today - How to say hi to a total stranger

Had a chance meeting with a fellow alopecian today--unfortunately we did not really get to talk. I was at the P.O. and when I got in line, I saw a woman a few places in front of me that was only wearing a fitted hat on her bald head--she didn't seem to have eyebrows or lashes either. I was so excited and proud of her for going out that way. I watched to see if the others in the P.O were staring or looking at her (it was crowded) and I didn't see anyone paying any attention to her--except me for obvious reasons. She was getting ready to leave and I wanted so badly to let her know there was someone else like her in the P.O. so I quick grabbed a label from of the rack, put the words "Me, too!" Drew a smiley face and put my email address on it then I quickly went up to her as she was walking out and said "Excuse me, may I give you this?" She looked startled at first, but when she read the note, she got a big smile on her face and said, "Yes, thank you!" I hope I made her day like she did mine. The only thing is that I was in such a hurry to write my email address down before she got away that I wrote it down incorrectly. I felt so bad in case she wants to email me. So I drove home and set up two new email accounts for what I think I wrote down on the paper. But it was so awesome to see that there is now two other alopecians in my town and two more nearby.

Wow, that was so bold and wonderful of you to take that first step! I hope the email solution works out. Otherwise i think you'll have to go back and stalk the post office until u see her again, lol. Then again, who knows, you may see some more. Maybe we should have little cards made up so we can use them in a hurry without error. It was a great icebreaker. Brava!!

Rodelli, that was awesome. I hope she contacts you at one of your email accounts.

@Minah, I find that when I see people without a wig, I will approach them. They are usually willing to talk. In fact some are now on Alopecia World!

If they are wearing a wig I will respect their privacy and maybe try to make eye contact. If they look I will smile and hopefully they will let me know if I can approach them.
