Regrowth - questions on biotin and thickening shampoos

Hey All,

I haven't been on here for awhile but I had a couple of questions. I started doing more cortisone injections in February, while my hair is growing back I'm 99% sure it has nothing to do with those painful shots! The areas they focus on have had no reaction and I'll probably stop soon. I'm very happy to report that I have an inch missing directly above my left ear and a couple of spots remaining on the bottom right neck area. Thankfully both of those areas are easily covered up so it looks like it won't hinder me from moving forward. :)

Since my hair is growing back SO slow I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. Right now it seems like it's only growing back 1/4 inch a month! Talk about annoying. I was browsing through the vitamin aisle and decided to grab some 2500 mcg bottles of biotin, has anyone used this? It's supposed to strengthen hair and hopefully make it thicker which I desperately need. I'm seeing my dermatologist on Wed of next week, should I wait to take them until I discuss it with him?

On a different note, has anyone had any luck with thickening/volumizing shampoos, I'm hoping to skip out on my wig in a month and I desperately want to show the world more than just a thin looking boy cut :(

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!

Jennifer

I take Biotin and the hair I do have grows very quickly - which it never did ever before taking this vitamin. I have used thickening shampoos in the past - the work fairly well at plumping up what you have - especially if you have enough hair to plump up :) BTW my nails now grow quickly too - after starting the Biotin.

What dose do you take?

5000 once a day in the morning. Also evening primrose oil was recommended by Dr Oz for anyone losing their hair. I have TE - I take both and with 5% Rogaine twice a day -my shed has slowed down quiet a bit - but who knows it might have slowed on its own - the whole hair loss thing is really just guess work as far as I am concerned.

Where would one find Primrose Oil ..??? Next to the Extra Virgin Olive Oil ??
Do ya just drink it down or what ..?
Can I put it on Linguine ?? lol with some garlic ?

Biotin ...hmmm Ive never been a huge thinker of vitamin supplements .... I took 4 Omega 3's each day for like two years and didnt feel look or act any different... Maybe I will consider LillyBell's regament ? (*spelling)

Primrose Oil is at CVS - I do NOT suggest it on Linguine : )- Omega's are suppose to be for your heart, I think - so you should not have looked different except for you arteries!!! As for acting differently - Robb I cannot imagine anyone wanting you to act any differently than the way you do : )

I do take Biotin and also make sure my multi vitamin has it as well but I'm not seeing any improvement, but then I have no hair at all. Hopefully it will help you.
