Painful alopecia or cicatricial alopecia?

So my spots hurt so bad. The pain ranges from a feeling of tight skin to sore/bruis-ie sensation to can't sleep on my pillow, to straight up pain like someone is poking a needles in my head. Is this a part of alopecia areata or do I possibly have Cicatricial alopecia? Any thoughts?

If it hurts that bad, I would go see a derm. doctor for sure. Probably one that has experience with Alopecia if possible. i did get that as well, but not too bad. I could sleep on my pillow without it hurting too much. I would get it checked out for sure. You don't have anything to loose and maybe they can give you something for the pain? I hope you get the help that you need. I hated that feeling so I know what you mean! Well wishes!

I always experienced a lot of pain when my hair fell out. Even my eyebrows hurt when my hair fell out there! Ibuprofen tended to work for me - hope that helps :)
