so i havent gotten to post for awhile... things have been crazy, plus ive been enjoying being a stay-at-home mom for awhile! lol... i started my new job yesterday & i absolutely LOVE it! my new boss is AWESOME... WAY better than that stupid BBBB! my new boss told me i can wear whatever i want on my head as long as im comfortable... thats the BEST! also, a lot of the people have come up and talked to me about them having cancer, or a loved one having cancer & losing their hair, so i feel a lot more accepted in this workplace. i really dont feel the stares like i did at the bank! I LOVE IT!!!! well... its wednesday night, so i gotta go shave my head again... im kinda making it a routine! lol. oh... btw... anyone tried that headblade sport? im thinking about ordering on online but wanted to check with all my bald-buddies first :)

Thanks for the update, Jennifer!!! It sounds like your new boss has a great attitude about your head.

I get the cancer questions a lot wherever I am, and it really doesn't bother me anymore. People are just concerned, and then relieved when you tell them you're healthy. I was just at an event with about 250 people who got used to having a bald woman in their midst pretty quickly.

Good luck, and enjoy your beautiful, cool head and new job!

Hiya Jen ! (or is that Mrs Chad?) Great to see you're so much happier in the new job! Say Hello back to Himself for me - ta!
I remember people asking me if I was ill. But then, they used to ask me that when I had hair, too... with hindsight, I think it was my mental health they were enquiring about.... :S Now they just avoid me, but it's great having space at the bar. ;)

Thanks for the update Jen. I'm so happy that you LOVE your new job - it's GREAT that they are accepting.
I don't really mind the cancer questions either - I think most people just assume and are concerned. If they do ask I get the opportunity to educate about alopecia. I just don't like the judgemental looks when I'm out enjoying a glass of wine, I might have to buy one of Mary's shirts Bald? So What!

Petra, you're getting confused - those aren't judgmental looks, they're lustful ones! They're trying to formulate a good opening line so they can chat up the sexy bald chick... (yep, even the wimmin!)
I'm thinking of getting a shirt that says, "Yep, Bald! Try Me!" What d'ya think I should charge? :)

Norm, they're probably lushing (oops lusting) over my glass of red wine.
What, for the shirt? :-)

Hey, you never mentioned the wine.... and OF COURSE, the shirt. Surely you don't think.... oh! I'm blushing!!! (not.) But I'll take a cheque (check?).... you'll take a rain check.... ;)

that's so great and kudos to you for daring to be bald in the office! And it's so cool that your boss and work environment is so accepting.
