I get some headaches for a week after getting a new wig or glasses...sometimes I go back for adjustments to whatever is touching my temples. I don't remember any pain with loss...just from injections!

Hi Lynne,

I've not had pain before but I do usually feel a little itching or tingling before I get a new bald spot. Sometime my scalp will look a little pinkish too. I asked my doc about this and she said it is normal- that as the immune system is attacking the hair follicles it creates inflammation- and that is what I am feeling.

perhaps the headaches are coming from the stress & worry of losing hair??? Just a thought.

Are you using any kind of treatment on your scalp that could be the culprit?

Hope you are feeling better soon!!
Heather

Lynne, I see you as a very brave, beautiful, intelligent person. I'm new to this site and I have one bald spot on the top of my scalp, but the hair is thinning on the sides and top...I'm freakin out..mine started in Nov. 08. I did/don't remember having any numbness or itching. How did yours start and how fast did it progress to total hair loss?

I also suffer from another immune problem - lupus..limited to the skin...am not supposed to go in the sun at all! Stress brings that on as well.

hey thank u, dont feel very beautiful at the moment, hate these bandana's, waitin on gettin my wig, well mine started on april09 i started gettin a rash which i was told was an allergy but didnt know wat, then i was out in the sun few days later on a sunday and i was left covered in blisters, was then told it was a sun allergy called polymorphic light eruption but i seem ok in the sun now, which is great, but i always wear suncream now, dont want to take the risk, about 1 or 2 after that i noticed a bald patch on the top of my head, but within 1wk and a half i had strands left, was very scary but couldnt do much about it, the hospital said i suffered a severe case of inflammation which could have caused it to fall out, but i had a really itchy head before the sun allergy so think it was gonna fall out anyway, so i shaved the rest off then ive left it and i have hair growin in but not sure how much so gonna wait n see wat happens, but my eyebrows arm and puic hair is thinnin so bit confused to how my head hair is growin but other parts r fallen out, just have to take it day by day as u never know wats gonna happen, thats the worse thing to accept, i havent coped well but not bad just now, been bak at work and they've bn great apart from the odd 2, so im just keepin my fingers crossed for now, thanks for the message tho, take care, hope to hear from u sn, x
