Well. I'm not sure where to start. Basically I had AA on and off since I was 4 years old. At 12 I finally decided that the PUVA treatments and the high dosage of steroids were breaking me down so I just lost all of my scalp hair and have been bald ever since! Middle and high school were definitely the worst, the kids were beyond horrible. Which had lead to my major self esteem issues, which I'm sure all of us have battled with.

During my junior year in HS I started having major back/leg pain which ended up leaving me with 6 screws and 2 rods from L4-S1 and 3 spine surgeries and a year and a half in hell, in and out of the hospital, CSF leak; any complication that could happen, happened. I also began to feel extremely tired, and sick in general in the year following this. But I played it off to that my body was recovering from the year before. I went to college and started feeling extremely ill, in and out of those ERs without any answers. I finally went to a GI and found out my gallbladder was not functioning; had it removed. In this past year I started feeling sick again. I finally came home from school and saw another GI who thinks I may have primary sclerosing cholangitis, another autoimmune disease. Then I started having problems with my girlie parts and found out that I also have interstitial cystitis, also an autoimmune problem! Anyone else have multiple autoimmune disorders?

Anyways. During all of this. I've been through hell emotionally just as much as I have been physically. I'm basically down to one decent friend, as much as I love my family they're extremely overbearing. Anyone else have this problem!?

Well I don't have the same illnesses as you but yes, I do have other autoimmune disorders other than Alopecia Areata (which by the way I think is turning into Alopecia universalis). I've always had asthma, allergies and a few years ago I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Luckily enough, I haven't had as many complications as you. I'm sorry to hear you have so many problems.. I really hope you'll get better soon! (:
