Just because

My husband and I had an unexpected date night. While I waited for our table, he went next door to the bookstore. He took a bit longer than expected and I waited patiently at our table. He later snuck behind me and handed me a greeting card with a glass heart on it. The envelope read “Just Because!”

The card inside read:

When I think of us…

I remember the first days of falling in love – staying up late, talking for hours, thinking, “Maybe this is the one”

I look back on our wedding day and I feel again the joy of hearing you say “I DO”

I look at us now, and I can see that each year we’re find out more about what it means to make two lives one, and how to walk with each other and with the Lord – even when things are hard.

I still want to grow old with you by my side, and know what it means to share a lifetime of “better or worse” with the one I will always love.

For anyone who knows our story or our relationship, this card was made for us. I thank God for the man that gave it to me. I love rj.
