Finally, I was sitting at home and my daughter said, “Mommy you don’t have to come to my school with a hat on or a scarf. I love you just the way you are.” WHAT?!?! I said okay, had a long day and I knew she would NEVER EVER want me to be bald around her school. The next morning I get on the bus and train bald. I am getting off the train I say are you sure you want me to be bald around your school?

I pulled my hat out of my pocket to see if she would like me to put it on. She said NO don’t! LOL was this an experiment or something I thought? How can she all of a sudden after crying and begging me not to go bald at her school just so serenely say don’t.

So I didn’t. As we got closer to her school I asked why can I come to your school bald? And her answer was again so cool and calm, “I don’t know, maybe because I’m just use to it by now, and besides I love you just the way you are.” ( I have said this to her many of times “I love you just the way you are”, now I know she fully understand it!)

Wow, that's awesome! Talk about unconditional love! Great story. I hope that everyone has at least one person, but hopefully more, that thinks and feels this way about them!

@ Stacey the way you responded was sooo lovely. I am not that quick to respond to my daughter in public more in private, but you too care of her and made that woman feel better. Thats awesome!

Amen, that brought tears to my eyes, because I know the inner conflict this was causing. Perhaps by you respecting her space and her present needs, gave her time to pause and think. And again I say Amen :)
