This might be long but I am going to speak from my heart!

I was diagnosed two years ago (March 2014) after a bad breakup. I believe that stress is what triggered the disease to manifest. I went to my doctor and was completely unimpressed by her shoulder shrug response, "you just have one of those medical mysteries...I can give you steroid injections but it's no guarantee." I was already pretty health conscious at the time and said no thanks I will figure this out on my own. She gave me a 'yeah right' look but that just fuelled me more. I just wasn't willing to polite other parts of my body with a cover up drug. I wanted to know the root cause.

I spent countless hours researching natural ways to heal my body and was coming up with nothing. Until I found one blog post from a woman who suffered from Alopecia for 35 years. She used food to heal her body. It took her a few years but she began to see hair growth on her head, armpits, legs and brows. This was the only info I could find though! Was she just a one in a million case or was no one trying to heal through food?

A few weeks later I was at a health convention in Salt Lake City and a woman sat down beside me. She was pleasant and friendly. She asked me what brought me there. So I shared my condition. By this time I had cut my hair short and was now having trouble hiding my patches. She looked at me and said omg Melissa this moment was meant to be. She suffered from Alopecia as well and enrolled herself in an online Health Coaching program. She grew back all of her hair. She gave me the name of the school and I enrolled myself that week.

The program started In October and I began wearing bandanas not yet ready to part with my hair. In the first couple of months I learned all about our digestive system and immune system and the ways to heal. So I dove into a diet and lifestyle change with optimism and intensity. I also took a really good look at my life and looked at where my stress was coming from. I made some changes in my home life, work, relationships.

At Christmas time I showed my family my head without bandana. I had lost about 50% of my hair by that point and was considering shaving it off. My mom cried lol I hugged her and told her I was happy and that I was meant to get this because I was going to heal my body and I was going to share it with the world.

In February of 2015 I saw some white peach fuzz coming in on some of my larger patches. So I kept at it. By April I had healthy brown hair coming through. Victory! Summer of 2015 I started to resort back to some old ways of eating. In August I had three new patches. So I fixed my diet again and they filled in.

Today I have an inspired mission. As a Health Coach I want to work to bring health and optimism back into the lives of those who are living with this disease. I want to empower all of you to take control and teach you all to heal your immune systems naturally.

We are all individuals on our own paths so our healing journeys will all look different. While I create a transferable program I want to learn from all of you! What have you tried already? What are you willing to do to reclaim your health? What do you need to find the strength and courage to step into your power?

I know the more we share and the more I learn from all of you will only create a stronger bond with each other and with ourselves!

Very happy for your success but dieting... Really?
So many people went gluten free, vegan, etc...
Some alopecians are BORN like this? They were having bad habits? They were stressed?
My alopecia started in 2005... In 2007 I had full regrowth! Is it because of my prayers? Nahhh... It's part of the stuff in life we do not control. However some people are celiac or have some sensitivity with food, for them it is very important to change diet habits.
Now I hope all will continue to go well for you!
