Recently I had done an interview with the editor with the local newspaper. It was about my alopecia journey and my going boldly to the gym without having any head covering. I was thrilled to see it printed in the newspaper 2 weeks later ( its a weekly paper) and even more shocked to see my picture on the front page. A small pic, but still front page.

That is awesome, I have been tossing that idea around, I go to the gym with either a hat or bandanna, but some days they a pain, I just want to take it off.

I love this article!!!! I also love that it was on the front page of your paper and hopefully everyone in your town was educated about alopecia. I still find so many people that have never heard of it until they talk to me. Congratulations!

That's fantastic, I shouldn't laugh but I remember doing the same thing, wearing a swimming cap in the sauna and wearing a woolly hat in the middle of summer to hold my wig in place, can't help but laugh at those days now :D
Love the tattoo, I've thought about getting one done on my head but scared it will hurt too much!

Terri, this is awesome! What a great way to raise awareness on the beautiful people that have alopecia.

I commend you on your boldness, way to go!!! I too did an article in my local newspaper several years back - they didn't put it on the front page but front of "the living section" and I had wished they would have went more in depth on alopecia itself, but at any rate, it did bring awarenesss (my goal) and I shocked the heck out of a lot of people who didn't have a clue of what I was dealing with, especially since they took a picture of me with my wig on and without my wig and used them in the article. :-)
