As the Tears Run Down My Face
I say!
Who do I see looking back at me
I don't know who that girl is
I don't know if it is me
The Girl in the Mirror
Looking Back At Me!
Does she smile
Or does she cry
Does she wish
Does she wonder why
Or does she tell the Girl in the Mirror ... it is only I!
I have no face
I can't see me
I have not changed
I just want to be free
I want to be me
I am the Girl in the Mirror .... it is only I!
It's so simple can't you see, that the girl in the Mirror is Me.......

Terri, thank you for your warm compliment. I write from the heart. I have such a burning to ease others pain, and sorrow ... so sometimes words are just not enough. The emotional struggles one goes through is time consuming, and I feel that we are all so held prisoner to the negative we feel about ourself and our image. These precious moments are all a total waste, over consumed with frustration, questions, fear and worry. Nothing we say or do is going to change the position we are in. I have come to understand my own reality and know, I have no choice in this matter, so I let it go. Yes, it did take years to come to this point of acceptance, and I am so angry at myself for allowing societies lack of understanding, and ignorance, to dictate my emotions. Today is a totally different story, and I only pray that sooner than later ... we all can come to this unfolding of self acceptance, being this beautiful image we have without hair. After all, there are millions of people world wide without hair, and I simply feel we should embrace our glorious gift of uniqueness!

I agree.....we let others dictate how we are going to feel about ourselves, especially when far too often we do it to ourselves. It had taken me many years aswell to get to this point. We are in control of our happiness, yes have our bad days but then push thru it. One thing alopecia has taught us is that we have incredible strength to move on.
Cheers to you MiNah

GLORY TO GOD, I TOO HEAR AND CELEBRATE KNOWING WHO I AM AND KNOWING I AM BEAUTIFULL WITH OR WITHOUT HAIR. THE GOOD LORD TRULY KNEW WE WERE GOING TO LOOSE OUR HAIR AND NOW HE WANTS US TO EMBRACE THAT FACT. I FEEL SO STRONG AND FULL OF FREEDOM AND SO MUCH FAITH IN THIS NEW JOURNEY. WOW, TO KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND NOT LET THE PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD DICTATE WHAT WE SHOULD LOOK LIKE IS A SENSE OF DELIVERANCE. YES, MINAH, I KNOW I AM UNIQUE AND A PECULIAR PERSON. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. WE ARE TRULY SPECIAL PEOPLE DESIGNED TO GIVE GOD THE GLORY BY STEPPING OUT IN FAITH AND SHOWING THE WORLD HOW UNIQUE GOD MADE US. I COUNT IT ALL JOY........ CHEERS TO YOU MINAH AND TERRI , HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND....

@Jean what you say is so powerful and meaningful, I am so glad to see the joy, the peace come over people when they really understand the beauty of being uniquely different. When they are able to accept the changes as a reward, rather than a shortcoming, to truely embrace their life. Love and enjoy the new person they see in the mirror, instead of cry with the "GIRL IN THE MIRROR"
