Freedom! ...due to circumstances beyond my control.
I went to get a haircut today which is usually a depressing experience. I have a wonderful snd supportive women who cuts my hair and she always tries to do the best she can with what little I have. Well, in the process of cutting, a good-sized chunk of hair fell out. I thought my barber was going to faint! She is aware that I have problem hair but this she was just not expecting. Anyway, after her recovery, we had a long and nurturing talk. She was just so sweet. We agreed that the best thing to do was just shave off the rest of the hair, totally. We both got a bit teary in the process. I am now as bald as an egg and as smooth as silk. I feel that I look honest. However, I feel so much better to be off the cycle of hair loss and the tease of regrowth. I'm sure that I will remain bald. It is my hair and my alopecia and others are just going to have to deal with how I look! Now, to go out and buy some sunscreen.

Congrats on feeling Free! You do look like a new man.
I know it may not have been the way you wanted it to be done but you are finally free from alot of the ups and downs that Alopecia has in stor for all of us at one time or another. ( at least for right now) Enjoy being a new man ~ make sure you have sunscreen!!!!

That is the exact cycle I want to be off of. The constant looking for regrowth only to have a sink full of hair each morning. I think my husband would flip if I shaved my head (as would the rest of my family) as he thinks "you still have enough hair to get by with". No one understands these emotions until you've experienced them!!

Well I didn't get to shave my hair...it all fell out rapidly. But I have some fuzzy patches which I have shaved. It feels weird to feel hair in only a few spots. I do wish I had eyebrows but I can't do anything about it. Life is life! When I had hair I was timid and shy....now without hair I have a voice!
