I really want to donate a bone marrow, I'm going to be 18 this month. I was looking on www.marrow.com and there are some condititons that can prevent someone from donating. Would it be ok for me to donate even though I have Alopecia Areata?

Thanks in advance

Yes, I believe so. I have AA and am on the registry in case my bone marrow matches anyone in need. You might want to also donate blood. It's great that you want to do something to help others. You sound like a very mature young woman. Happy Birthday!

I donate platelets all the time. I haven't done bone marrow, but I don't think there would be a problem.
