Does alopecia affect your children?

hi everyone nad happy new year, i was just wondering if alopecia was passed down to your children. It would be great if someone could tell me thanks.

Since its an auto-immune disease. no... however they might get a different one, its a chance. for example, my mother has an auto-immune disease that affects her blood. I am the only one out of her children that got an auto immune disease and mine was alopecia

My father had AA and lost all his scalp hair by the time he was 35. I had my first episode of hair loss when I was about 45. At that time, I only lost hair in one spot on my scalp then it would grow back. Lately I have experienced a very large episode of hair loss. My hair is getting very sparse and thin.
