Contest on Cityline...I've been entered.

Hi all,
I have been entered into a contest (thanks mom!) on Cityline (Toronto morning show). The contest is for women and is about sharing their stories of "I can achieve." You can go to the link http://contests.citytv.com/icanachieve/story.aspx?sid=599 , read my story and vote if you like.
My story I think is like many of yours (told from my mom's eyes). You can vote daily and what is even better is that each vote will generate a $1 donation for the Canadian Women's Foundation which is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls!
What is crazy about this whole contest is that this is my "Here I am, as I am" moment to all of Canada. I have told everyone I know and my mom knows about my alopecia but I haven't gone down the ranks of old schoolmates, teammates, or aquaintences...so here she goes!!!
Thanks for your ear!

That is fantastic!!! I have watched cityline many times, usually on my days off. I will definitely vote for you.
My mom has tried on many occasions to get me to send something to cityline for alopecia awareness, just never had the nerve yet. But now I started an awareness event for my city (Edmonton)
Again good luck and I look forward to seeing you on tv.

That's awesome! I know this has been crazy exposure of me to my "friends" on facebook as this is really going viral quickly. It is somewhat therapeutic and a tad scary to have childhood friends reading my story but at the same time it's who I am. You totally should send something in to cityline...I really think education is so key for public awareness and then acceptance! I do have to thank my mom for finding this and for the submission. There are some amazing, amazing women on the site!!! It really is inspiring to read their stories! Thank-you for the support! Much appreciated.

Fantastic job on the awareness event!!!! Well done!!!! I need something like that going on here! I hope to connect more with CANAAF who is doing the same awareness in Toronto. All the best Terri.

I lived in Toronto for 3 years and often watched "Cityline". I commend you for telling your story. Its the only way the world will understand and come to accept us and in general, the differences people have that don't make them any "less" as people. I will vote for you.

Thank-you Lili. I agree with you 110%. I think the criticism people face with any type of difference or dissability often stems from someone elses insecurities and fears. Disarm people with education about our disease and voila...public acceptance and awareness. Thank-you for the vote...very kind.
Warm Wishes,
Jenn
