I guess the last blog I wrote was before I took my trip to Philly for the CAP conference which was over a month ago! I'm a bad blogger LOL

The conference was really cool and I got the opportunity to meet tons of really awesome people. It was rather unfortunate that my plane was cancelled the day I was supposed to leave because of the weather but I did get home the next day. I've also finished writing another alopecia story for another book, number two now :D (just waiting for it to be published). I wrote an article for a dutch alopecia magazine as well which was pretty cool. I really should concentrate on publishing my own book sometime but it is so much easier to leave all the red tape up to someone else. One day though ;)

My application to the human rights tribunal has been accepted (from when I was fired from my last job cause I refused to take off my company issued hat which was acceptable in the dress code) and I am currently awaiting a reply from the tribunal to see what kind of response the company had and whether this will be settled quietly or in court (which will probably take several years).

I am looking forward to this Friday when I will be having another alopecia support meeting. It looks like it will be a quiet meeting but that's not such a bad thing when there are new people attending because then you can answer all their questions without everyone else feeling like this is getting too repetitious. I am so thankful that there is a parent in my group that can help me with the other parents because I don't know things from the parents perspective. But that's my update for now. Hope to be around more often. Take care!!! :)

And how was the campout?
Comment by Carol on September 25, 2009 at 12:44pm
Unfortunately the camp didn't happen because ticket sales flopped. It's somewhat dissapointing that those who attend meetings here do not volunteer their time or effort to this cause. If it's free and they don't have to do anything then they come otherwise it's me and the tumbleweeds :(
Perhaps if and when CANAAF gets going I can get support through them and try again. I really would like it to happen though because Canada is so uninvolved!

Well, regardless of the camp not happening, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself! I've been busy writing too for a second book (I wonder if it's the same one we're working on?), so looks like right now you and I are leading parallel lives! Glad to see you're doing well, though!

How are the kids??

Hi Kasta!! Are you working on Pam's book too? The kids are great, getting right back into the swing of school and planning their halloween costumes. My head's still stuck in July but I'm looking outside and it's saying October, baby!! LOL
