A woman and I were trying on shoes next to each other at the mall this morning. She slipped on a pair of black high-heeled pumps, obviously admiring her reflection in the little "shoe mirror" on the floor. Her well-meaning daughter frowned and said, "Don't try on those, Mom. They are just NOT you." I glanced over at her and said, "Maybe they're not you NOW. But, if you bought them and wore them, then they would be, right? The perfect pair of shoes (Like the right wig? Like finally shaving your head?) -- AND the attitude that comes with them -- can change everything!" I don't know if she bought them, but when I left she was still trying on black pumps. :-)

Yeah. My birth hair WAS straight, thin, brunette. I have been ME in blond, frosted, tri-tone, red, maroon, brown and dark brunette wigs, and the people in my life just have to realize that this is the only way I can experience the change they can all put into their lives, and the only way I can get a beauty shop experience that other females get. My new choices ARE the new me.

I so totally agree. Before when my hair was thinning I never took pics, I avoid crowds, I avoid sitting in the front and middle of a theater cause I didn't want ppl to notice my thinning hair. Then, when I got my hair I was a different person, today I love pictures, sitting where-ever I want and flicking my hair. Love my hair and my self-esteem sky-rocketted. Just do what eer makes you happy and free.

Yep, it's definitely easier to change your look with different wigs. I am trying to figure out at the moment how I can adapt to my look of wigs, eyebrow tattoo's, eyelashes and still feel like the same old me. I feel like I have to put a lot more effort in to look 'normal now', wheras when I had hair I was very carefree and natural about beauty. It's hard having to dress up with accessories to feel I'm beautiful. I don't do it everyday. i just put on a bandana.

It's all about attitude and how you carry off those shoes or anything else. As long as you like them, that's all that matters. Same with wigs or being shaved or whatever else, just have fun! And do what's most comfortable and makes you feel good. Nothing wrong with that :)
