I just got back from my 7 day trip from Cancun. It was very nice, never seen water so blue, never seen they sky so clear, never seen so many stars on a dark spring night. One of the things I would like to share with you guys is I meet another alopecian on the trip. He was an alopecian universalis patient, very very sucessful man. He had 3 beautiful children, and a lovely wife. I was so excited to meet him, as I never meet any other alopecian in life. He wear no wig, had no tattoo eyebrows. He was proud of who he is, and he was very supportive and spend time talking to me about how he dealed with alopecia. He told me he wore a wig for 5 years, but as soon as his first daughter was born, he took his wig off because he felt nothing was more important than his family.

I still can't function letting other people see me with so little hair, but I took my wig off for one day. Just one day, because I am not going to waste my vacation, I need to dive into the water and enjoy the nice cancun weather. Summer is coming, hopefully everyone can enjoy the nice weather that is coming.

Here is a picture of me with my wig.

Go get checked for swine flu. Cancun is where all those NY highschoolers caught it.

Thanks for sharing news of your vacation. I'm proud of you for taking off the wig for a day, I know
that can be very hard to do, but you know now its worth it. :)

By the way, you are just lovely. You'll find a LOT of alopecians to meet if you go to the Houston conference.

you look beautiful in your new wig carol! glad to hear you enjoyed your vacation and got into the cool water. i just recently got a swim cap and goggles for the pool. for years i steered away from a pool or the beach. (well, i'll just dip my feet in the water or just have the water up to my waist) but, never swim or get my hair wet, even though i wear a freedom wig and the wig allows me to do so. now, i feel that i can enjoy life a little more and let go of my insecuries now that i know there are so many wonderful alopeicains like me!

A woman returned to Pittsburgh from Cancun and said the newspaper in Cancun reported
that the swine flu was in Mexico City and there were no reports of it in Cancun. I wouldn't
worry about it.
