Are there any wigs that look completely real?

I think its going to get to the point where I have to wear a wig:O(:O(........I don't not want people to know that its a wig...even up close.....I do NOT want to go bald or wear hats or hankerchiefs...soooo upsetting...my spots are growning little white hair, some more than others....but its seems like I'm still loosing a lot....I just want to scream sometimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll probably just have to go for a synthetic one,,,I don't have that kind of money, and my insurance won't pay for it unless it is for cancer....thanks

I cried, had nighttime panic attacks and was very depressed when this first happened. I headed right to the wig store and bought a human hair wig that almost exactly matched my hair color. My insurance is supposed to pay (reminds me I have to check on that AGAIN). Since I have plenty of hair left (so far, though the front/temple areas decided a week ago to fall out) so I don’t have a full wig. The store cut to my hair length, and later I had highlights added by my hairdresser.

I wear a headband ( I have about 10 – the cloth bands that go all the way around my head are the most comfortable because the wig is held on by clips which dig into my scalp. The first few days I adjusted it a hundred times. Now I often forget to check!

No one knows who I have not told. I did get comments at first, but they were all, “Did you do something different?”, “Your hair is getting longer!”, “I like the way you’re doing your hair!” It is much bushier than my hair, but now everyone is so familiar with this look no one comments at all. On the weekends if I go tot the store, I wear a baseball cap. This weekend however, I took a really inexpensive Revlon hair piece ($40) that is my color, cut it to my length, trimmed some of the cap off the sides since In am wearing in over the top of my head rather than circling my head like it is made for. Then I put on a hair band, put it in a ponytail and put a cap on. I had a nice COMFORTABEL ponytail all day! I think it will be my weekend wear since it was so comfortable.

Try tlcdirect.org. Very affordable. You can get a ring of color swatches for only 6.00. I ordered bangs today since my front hair is falling out which I’ll Velcro to a head band if it gets much worse. I need to have an emergency plan in place in case things get worse!

i agree with aimee!!

always try to get a wig with a side part or one that you can actually part on the side and possibly with some kind of bang... that helps make it look more natural. especially for a first wig...

i actually recommend forever young wigs.. you can get them at voguewigs.com. i find that they are pretty natural looking synthetic wigs and the fiber they use is called kanekalon fiber. it's SUPER soft and it's really pretty. i've also had a great shipping experience at voguewigs.com...

the only problem with getting wigs online is that you won't know exactly how the wig until you get it but sometimes it's worth the risk... the price of the forever young wigs are less that 40$ a piece so it also really doesn't hurt to try!!

good luck!! i'm also on the look out for a new extremely natural looking wig so if i have any success, i'll surely let you know =D

Hi - I went thru quite a few wigs until I bought my monofilament - its a Raquel Welch and I love it (as much as u can love wigs.... ) will post pic soon - the mono has the cap that looks like your natural hair line - its really a breath of fresh air compared to the other ones I've had - you can buy them much cheaper at wigs.com than at any store - so I would recommend going to the stores to try them on see what you like then ordering, mine was about $270 on line free shipping vs. $350 in the store - hope that helps...

I have three vacuum cap wigs from New Technology... They are always styled with bangs to have them look like real hair. I have had one for 5 years and it is still wearable, but it will need to be retired soon. You can send the wig back to have repaired which I will do to extend usability. The big hurdle is the cost!!! The last one was 4K. The hair in these wigs is virgin European and there is a lot of it. The con in getting this type of wig is price and they are HOT to wear in the summer. Some people swim in them etc but I have never done that.

If you really want something that looks natural... I would investigate the all lace human hair hair wig. I am getting one after January. There are some great videos on YouTube on how to apply the glue/tape and how to put the wig on.

I bought a very inexpensive wig from Paula Young that is synthetic and wonderful... it is an open weave but along the part and crown is mesh that looks like a natural part and the sides have a plastic that adheres to the skin so there is less slippage. If you go the synthetic route use some conditioner on the wig so that it loses the shine that synthetic hair has, and I also believe this helps keep it from frizzing.

I never had but two wigs... recently I have been experimenting... so there are more that have come into and out of my life.... Much Luck in your search.
