Any chance of hair regrowth after eyebrow tattooing?

I am contemplating getting my eyebrows tattooed. This is the second time I have lost all my scalp hair, since being diagnosed with Alopecia totalis in 2010. My eyebrows and eyelashes were never affected the first time. But, this second time around....everything has fallen out.
I have never been one two wear a lot of makeup. So, drawing on my eyebrows and putting on eyeliner every morning is a big challenge. My question is: Has anyone had any regrowth after getting their eyebrows tattooed? Was tattooing a good or bad decision? This would be my FIRST tattoo ever! Any comments, encouragement, and words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

I'm actually interested in learning this information too. I have AU and I had both my eyebrows and eyeliner tattooed. I did my eyebrows about 4x and I had a similar experience as Aimee. First gal didn't do that great of a job and then found someone that was excellent. I only needed to do my eyeliner once and right now, my lashes are growing in. (I cut out dairy from my diet and experienced hair growth within 3 weeks.) But I'm hoping the tattoos don't do anything to keep my eyebrows from growing in. Either way, I think it may be worth getting them done anyway. Although Smashbox does have a great eyebrow pencil that I've been using since my tattoos are faded once again...anyways, hope you find the answer.

I had my eyebrows and liner tattooed. Currently, one and a half of the eyebrows and one full set (top and bottom) lashes have returned right over top of the tattoos.
The half an eyebrow that I am waiting for has fuzzy hairs that I think are trying to be real eyebrows but the tattoo in that area has faded quite a bit so I fill it in with brow shadow for now. I would have never been able to do without the tattoos.

DO NOT do it!!! I know someone who got her eyebrows tattooed on then her eyebrows grew back in a different place so she had four eyebrows.

Thank you all for your responses. My fear is what Jessica had mentioned...4 eyebrows. Also finding a person who will do a great job. I suppose the only saving grace is that they do fade if the job wasn't done well. Has anyone heard of the "feathering technique?" Apparently hairs are individually drawn on. It is not available where I live but would be willing to travel if it was worth it...and not look like zebra stripes.

Every time I've seen photos where it looks like individual hairs, they were taken right after the procedure. After a few days, the tattoos heal and then they no longer look like individual hairs. I'm not sure if there is a different with the feathering technique but my advice is to ask for photos taken a week after the procedure.

When I first developed AU, I never thought I would be dealing with it 8 years later. So I'm happy I've had my eyebrows tattooed this entire time. I've never heard eyebrow hairs shifting so I'm not worried about that either. Right now I have very fair white hairs growing over the them. Since I'm experiencing hair growth, I'm not planning on having them darkened. So I'll let you know if anything funky happens and I end up with four eyebrows.

I have had some hair regrowth after tattoos! The technician told me that might happen. I'm very happy, it makes the tats look even more natural. I even have to tweeze a couple of hairs that are growing outside the new eyebrow line, but she did make my eyebrows very close to where they were placed before. (My head is still bald, by the way) If you are in NYC I recommend Jackie David.
