The question has been asked. Why do I love Alopecia World?

Turn your calendar back to March, 2008.
I was into my 8th month of my Alopecia Journey and feeling kinda, well... you know...blah.
I had been searching the web for information, and lo and behold it's Alopecia World!
I joined immediatly and created a profile, put up the wallpaper, put up some pictures, added some music and started inviting people over to chat and get to know one another.

Turn the page to June 2008. NAAF Conf Louisville, KY.
I get to the Marriott and who do you think greets me in the lobby? Don't know? I'll tell you who. It was Cheryl, RJ and of course Roger from Sweeden. I was like OMG!!! We hugged and laughed and then went to get some fuel. It was Thirsty Thursday and I was reallllly thirsty. Anyway, I had been spending a couple months getting to know people on Alopecia World and finally got to meet them face to face. Truly an amazing experience!
I had been spending hours every day talking with people, going through this same nightmare, and it hit me like a pie in the face. This is real. I'm not having a bad dream. This is real and these people are real. They are happy and wonderful human beings.

This was when I reached Acceptance with Alopecia. I couldn't have done it without you Alopecia World!!!

Turn the page to Feb 2009. I continue my Alopecia Journey with all my friends and meeting new ones each day.
We at Alopecia World share our lives with each other. Our hopes our dreams, Our sadness our sorrow. Our triumphs our failures. This is Life.

Thank You so Much Alopecia World. We are Somewhere Over The Rainbow.

Happy Valentines Day!

Jeffrey

aw...that was nice! I feel like the first 8 months was the hardest for me. But now, a year and a half later, I'm really o.k! I didn't think I would ever get to that point. I think, (with anything else) it just takes time to get used to and we make the best of it and still look good ; ) AND have learned a lot along the way!
