My friend has just confided in me that her 3yr old daughter has bn diagnosed with celiac disease and her hair is thinning. I am gutted that this is happening as i know how hard hair loss is for me an adult but she's just a baby :( although i suffer hair loss i dont know wat to say or do for my friend, she is in bits and terrified. I will answer her questions as much as i can but i dont know much about ceoliac disease! Why does this shitty alopecia pick on us, i pray that we find the answers.

Hi Lynne, I have Celiac and while new to the disease I do know that it is VERY important to go gluten free. Once her dauther is gluten free for a while maybe her hair will grow back in. There are numerous sites on line to get information. I am also a member of Celiac.com which I have found to be comforting. The biggest change with Celiac is bread and pasta which I have not found a good answer to that so far but trying quite a few recipies. Her daughter is very young so she should have it pretty easy making the change and I know for sure her daughter will feel better. Good Luck to your friend!
