I've been feeling a lot more comfortable going out and about in my bandanas/scarves. I have not yet went completely uncovered (that's the next step) but what I have done is a major thing and I don't feel as self conscious as I used to. I do get all kinds of looks, but that's to be expected. I'm going out with the expectation of anything happening so that I won't be completely taken by surprise if something does happen, or something is said. As long as I have my attitude in the right place I think it will be alright. Just like Kaitlyn Kuzio said...:“Let my personality, my ambitions, my words and my heart determine who I am — not my hair. For if that were the case, I would be nothing. I wouldn’t be here.” Well said!

Major kudos to you, Angie, for following your own path to existential freedom and fulfillment. :-) Just in case others are interested, here's the source of the great Kaitlyn Kuzio quote.

I'll tell you what, the first day that you go out and you have nothing on your head what so ever and you don't even realize that you should feel bare is the best. It's freeing, you feel like you dont even have to pretend anymore. You find yourself again, and again. The more that you do it the less that people will look at you differently, because I believe, you gain that confidence that that it is normal and that it is ok and people begin to over look you. It makes you feel like you belong this way. It's wonderful and such an uprising. Plus I gurantee that nobody will ever forget who you are!!
Way to go with taking that big step, and the next one will feel much better.
My best advice is greet the outside like you own it. Like everyone else is the ones who don't belong and you are the normal looking one.
Good luck on your Naked Head Freedom!!
