Hi friends! I have a totally random thought. Has anyone noticed any connection with hair loss and seasons? I have a few patches right now and noticed that this is the 3rd fall in a row that this has happened. It seems that I only lose hair in the fall. Has anyone else noticed this? Am I crazy? :)

So...after round two of patches and bald spots..... Its growing in strong. I have both eye brows and eyelashes!!! Hooray! I even have to shave my legs again. (I could have kept that part hairless) I have even had two haircuts since then! Thank You Jesus that you are the God of the unlikely and the impossible!…

And it seems to be Round 2 of Alopecia. It seems harder this time than the first time around. Everyone keeps saying that it is easy this time because I know what to expect and I already have wigs. But, for some reason, I'm having a harder time with it and don't feel like I can tell anyone that I am having a harder time. Is that stupid?
Well, heres where I stand as of now. I started noticing it coming out in the shower about a week and a half ago....…

Has anyone heard of skin lupus before? I know what lupus is, but have never heard of 'skin lupus'. I just had several skin biopsies where they are looking for 'skin lupus'. Its the next thing on the list (of doctor's guesses) to rule out. Does anyone else have this??

I know I can't be the only one who misses ponytails. Normally, wigs and ponytails just look rediculous. But- here's my solution to the wig ponytail...…

so this morning was really hectic....you know sometimes you just have one of those mornings that feels like an entire day - all before you go to work. today was one of those mornings. I woke up late to begin with and had a class that was scheduled for earlier than normal. as I was getting dressed, I realized that the make-up powder that I use to draw on my eyebrows was GONE! WHAT!?!?!?! 3 seconds later, my doorbell rings. It is the woman that used to live downstairs from me. It was really great… Continue

It is a human hair wig. I realized that one of these days, I was going to forget to take off the other ones at work and melt it (synthetic). Now, I don't have to worry about it!

So tonight I will make my first social appearance BALD! I have been furniture shopping wigless...but I don't know those people so who cares. I also went to the renaissance festival and bought a tiara with a drop gem (its really pretty) and wore that around on my little naked head. Tonight I will go to a wedding party and a going away party...bald. i spent a stupid amount of time trying to figure out what clothes match a bald head. what is the perfect earring length to accompany my pea… Continue

I went back to see Linda
to have my new LONG wig fitted. Its definitely not for everyday wear, but something fun to wear once in a while....
I also had Linda shave my head using clippers last night. My head is still patchy, but looks much better. My head is so fuzzy - I just want to rub it all the… Continue

Yep - I bought another one. Seriously, I think I have a problem. Buying wigs is SO FUN!! This one is really long!! I'll post pictures of it after I get it fitted tomorrow. And, tomorrow is the big day - I'm shaving my head. Actually, the woman who fits and styles my wigs is going to shave it (she owns her own salon...see previous blogs
). I'm going to have her shave it the first time and show me how. I'm… Continue

My mom and I purchased this wig at Hair for You Salon
. I am not sure who the designer is because the tag was removed when Linda was altering it to fit my head. She also cut it so that it had a cute style. It is a little shorter in the back and comes down longer in the front. It fits really well (since she cut it to fit my head) and is really fun. Yay for new hair :)…

I have found my new favorite woman. Her name is Linda DiFronzo. She owns Hair for You Salon
in Arlington Heights, IL. If you remember, I was asking about what to do with wigs that were too big (because the petite wig selection is lacking!!). Well...let me introduce Linda. She owns her own salon that does everything! My mom thinks she is going to go to her to get her hair styled, colored, etc (she does not have alopecia). But, for the past… Continue

Last week, Karen Peterik from New Life Hair
came to my house to talk about the Vacuum Sealed Freedom Wigs. She was amazing. Talking with her was really great. She was so helpful. We decided to hold off for a little while. I am still starting out with this whole process (5+ weeks) and am having patches of regrowth. I am still having new patches develop, but some new regrowth. But, those hairpieces were AMAZING! So light and natural. I could not beleive… Continue

I just wanted to put up some more recent pictures of my head. As you can see, there isn't much left to my eyebrows or eyelashes. It has been a little over one month since we noticed the first small spots in the back and was diagnosed. Holy cow...this thing has moved quickly. I'm home now, back in Chicago, for some time until Galveston is back up and running since the hurricane. I have an appointment with my dermatologist here this week as a second opinion. I also am going to meet with a woman… Continue
