I hate it, I hate it, I hate it

I hate how much it costs to look normal.

I can't go wigless, I have a combo of Trichotillomania and AA, I have HUGE patchy bald spots mostly on the top of my scalp, I'm pale white with black hair, so even when I shave my head completely down to the skin they show up, black patchy spots everywhere, and when I go out in public people look at me like I'm a leper, even go as far as to avoid standing close to me or taking the long way to walk around to avoid me.

Wigs of Mass Distruction or WMDs!

Hi everyone on AW!

It's been a few weeks. Christmas is over and work is in high gear. Lots of projects and no time to come on here and talk to everyone. I miss that and hope I can get on more.

Tonight...the work holiday party

The holidays just won't stop! For me tonight is the final party for the year. Thank goodness.

And I am in a quandary. It's over my wigs. Is anyone on here surprised? I am sure I am the ONLY person to ponder their wig dilemma on Alopecia World. ha ha. Right.

Here's the deal. No one at work has seen me in my wigs yet. My hair is still passable enough to get away with it when I go to work. But let's face it, there is nothing by way of styling that I can do with it. It's too thin…

Christmas irony

Yup...

I never win anything. Never. Tuesday I won something - a hairdryer. Yes, you heard correctly. A hairdryer. Is that not the most crazy thing ever? "Hi my hair is falling out, can I have a hairdryer?" ROFL. My hairdresser had a giveaway over the holidays and she entered me in. Bless her heart. It's a professional dryer. Nice one. She uses this hairdryer herself at her salon. I can still use it for now but I had a good laugh when she gave it to me.

Update on me...

Wore a Chantel wig from PY for my niece Michele's wedding. pic just got put on FB. I just don't wanna have to be explained in pics years down the road...it was a little hot but...i did not want to stand out. I hope I am being true to myself and not hiding behind a wig like it is a mask.

Summertime musings

Well its officially summer in the River City. We have had fires everywhere for months (southern Georgia, neighboring Florida counties to the west and south). Even on some days when it was actually not too hot to don a wig I left it at home anyway, as I did not want to get that smoke smell in it.

Made a new wig video recently. Still maintaining my Youtube channel, obsessing over 'insight' and grooming my playlists. And something about the fringe that makes me look like a hippy

My new wig arrived Thursday. Absolutely gorgeous! very very long chocolatey brown colour. I'll post a photo at some point.

I got it, I loved it. It was brilliant.

And I was a total mess all day.

Is it possible to have sex with your wig on?

Hey I am freaking out, this might sound weird but I am thinking to have an affair NOT a relationship that is why Telling him I am almost bald is out of question. But I want to go for it. My main issue is is I can wear a wig during sex. Ladies Have you?? If it is a non adhesive lace wig where you could eventually use tape or glue will it be enough for a night?



Any ideas on how to handle it, maybe I should tell him not to pull my hair? or it will be too obvious?

4 wigs and a new boyfriend

Way back in the spring I had been so proud of myself for finding some really super cheap foam heads to put my wigs on. I hardly wear wigs so it's important for them to keep their shape for the off chance that I do feel like wearing one. Rude people

I don't understand why people have to be so rude,

My poor ego :(



I was feeling down, (it's really hard to feel like you look good when you're eight months pregnant) but something got me even more down.



I recently bought a wig online, Seeing as how there are no wig stores in flagstaff that was my option.

Avoiding Active/Outdoor Life

I suppose if one is afraid to try anything new due to reasons like tiltable wigs, social insecurity, or irrational fears (like bridges and highways, insane clowns or kapusta festivals), then one might avoid all sorts of open-air, windy, or active endeavors, and stay safe with indoor hobbies. (ME? Reading, talking, art, music, movies, study, work). As a wearer of elastic-held wigs (caps too hot in California), I can understand the trade-offs that I have made in life.

Today I visited Wig Gallery on Pacific Coast HWY. in Newport Beach. Nice lady waited on me.

I went to the wig gallery today in Newport Beach. The sales lady was very polite. Same wigs here as I see everywhere. Scary mannequin heads starring at me and I felt like I was in a dark nightmare from a scary movie. But, she was nice. I saw the same synthetics. she has many hair pieces to choose from. I would have loved a small poof of hair , but I have nothing to attach it to. Didnt buy anything. I was chased away by a bunch of smiling mannequins that wear to much makeup. Neon Green Wigs and Barbies

I have a slightly funny story today:)


So, on facebook, Alopecia Areata requested my friendship. I said yes and decided to check out the profile. Apparently, there is a herbal hair growth treatment that is all natural or whatever. Repairing a wig? Is that possible?

I have heard of sending a wig in for repair. What does that entail exactly? I have a 3/4 wig, medium or shoulder length. A couple times it has gone through what seems like a shed! I go through a couple-week period where more than a few hairs come out every time I run my fingers through it (which is often during the times I am worried about it), and there always seems to be some on my clothing and extra in the brush. Love wearing wigs

In scanning this site, it looks like most people hate wearing wigs. I actually think its a fun and glamorous thing to do. I feel like a princess or movie star when I'm wearing glamorous wigs. If anybody would like advice on how to make a wig look better, or more comfortable, please write to me.
