Hair growth

Hello everyone (someone-- whoever may be reading this). I wanted to make an update about my alopecia. Maybe 2 weeks after I got steroid injections in my two bald spots I had little hairs starting to peek through. Now weeks in I have a significant amount of hair growth not only on the bald spots, but I feel like it helped out my hair with volume. I'm happy to say that the treatment worked for me with just one dosage. Good luck to everyone out there dealing with their alopecia. May it go away and… Continue

CNN - Girl with alopecia wins competition with gorgeous jeweled head

Source:  CNN/ By Alexandra Larkin

I agree with this mother that it is important to support your children with alopecia and help them understand that they are no different than anyone else with or without hair.

(CNN)Even without hair, 7 year-old Gianessa Wride has managed to sparkle -- and win her Utah school's "Crazy Hair…

Bald

So.... Had a very severe bout of hair loss. Couldn't hide the bald spots. With the support of my husband, daughters and great friends, I shaved it all off. Very freeing! My husband says I look sexy, my daughters love it. I feel supported. I have gone out to dinner and shows without a wig or any head covering. Since I live n Arizona, I have lots of hats too. Having fun with eye makeup.

Organic 99% sulfur and hair growth

I've been taking organic sulfur for 2 months , a teaspoon a day and my eye lashes are growing back. Sulphur also helps phase 2 liver detox, so is good for getting estrogen and other steroid hormones out of the body faster, as well as toxic metabolites sitting around from phase 1 liver detox. I've never seen anyone whose phase 2 was as fast as their phase 1, have you? I think everyone can benefit…

Attachment to Suffering. Why did I have to be the one to lose my hair?

“To be free from suffering, free yourself from attachments.”

They say being attached can lead to suffering, but we can also be attached to our suffering.

Every person living now is going through some kind of suffering……

There is death, sickness, poverty, injustice, cruelty, judgements, projections, failures, and insecurities.

Sometimes it is easy to forget that other…

Eye lashes and facial hair are growing

Hi Friends ,
I have been gluten and dairy free for 6 mos. I also see a dermatologist every 2 weeks for a application of some type of medication to my scalp that forms a dermititis. I have. AU and my whole scalp looks like eczema.
I'm not sure if it's my new diet or treatment. But something is growing. Has anyone else had this experience?
Thank you ,
Suzana

Everything happens for a reason.

Here I am back on this site years later and I'm loving it ...

I joined when I was around 14 years old and now I'm 18.

I was diagnosed with alopecia when I was just 4 years old. I decided to wear a wig when I was in 6th grade because I wanted to be like everyone else. Throughout the years I continued wearing them, although I didn't want to wear them any longer. It's hard you know, to just stop wearing wigs when everyone knows you as the girl with hair. But if I were to stop…

My story

I was just diagnosed about a month ago with A. Areata. It's so frustrating, I keep trying to see ways to improve this with nutrition, creams, meditation. I've read that it can be caused by stress and then on other sites it says it has no relevance. However about two months before this started I went through a tremendous stress at work. And I cannot help but think they are connected!

I just flew to Australia from Canada and came back a few days ago, while I was there I developed a painful… Continue
