I have suffered with alopecia for over 25 years. It all started when I stopped taking the birth control pill and then a couple of years later I was diagnosed with a under active thyroid. I tried everything from creams, injections and vitamins for a very long time...nothing worked. At one point all my body hair fell out except my eyelashes, but it did grow back eventually and the hair on my head grew back white and rest grew back dark brown my natural colour. Now I have very little hair on my head, I have no leg hair and I have eyelashes missing on one eye and my eyebrow just grew back. It has been a up hill battle for many years and have come to terms with it. I recently shaved my head and now wear wigs on a full time basis. On one had it's great I can switch up my hair style instantly and get a different look whenever I want. However the cost can add up quickly but for me the benefits out ways the cost, as they have been a real confidence booster for me, and if you feel good about yourself that's all that matters.
