About Me:
I'm 44, I live in Croatia, Zagreb. Last year I began loosing my eyebrows and the hair above my forehead started to fall also but the doctors suggested it was caused by my Hashimoto and Celiac disease. Half a year later I had a missed period and after that a prolonged one, but apart from that my cycles were normal and the gynecologist didn't want to put me on HRT. I have very fair skin prone to sunburn so I abundantly used sunblockers (100 or 50+) on my face from february till november for 10 years, following the suggestion of the dermatologist(due to severe melasmas) and sunscreens (30+) for my body.I colored my hair only twice; I had problems with dandruff and itching and the dermatologists wrongly cured me for seborroic dermatitis, the therapy never helped me. Eight years ago I developed severe rosacea which was never really cured. Two days ago I got my biopsy result; Lichen planopilaris FFA. In Croatia we don't have specialised trichologysts, and no one knows what to do with me. The dermatologist who performed the biopsy prescribed Plaquenil which I refused because of the risk of serious eye damage. After refusing the therapy I was left with no therapy, although there are at least 10 possible approaches to the illness. Due to three autoimmune diseases I performed the tissue tipisation test and found out I had the HLADQB1*03 associated with Lichen planopilaris. Now I'm trying the International Association of Trichologysts suggestion as a possible cure (L-tyrosine + NAC + vitamin D3) - has anyone tried it, maybe? The only thing that helps me with the intense itching is coconut virgin oil + tea tree oil massaged on my scalp. I would like to know what do you others use or suggest, coconut oil is marvellous but difficult to wash off the hair...
