About Me:
I am 32 years old and have had Alopecia for almost 2 years now.

It all started with some bald spots which then got bigger and bigger, within a few months I lost all the hair on my head, then realized that my arms and legs hair was gone also. The last hair I lost were my eyelashes and eyebrows (not totally, but almost) making my alopecia universalis.

Now by the grace of God my hair is growing back, I have had no treatment due to in middle of all this I became pregnant and just had a baby, but I am sure that with God's favor I will have a head full of hair again and if it doesn't I pray my faith grows stronger.

God knows why things happen and besides, our hair does not define who we are. Yes I would love to have it back and not think or worry if my wig is in place or not, or if it is too windy that it may fly out, but ultimately, hair is just that, hair.

We are healthy, strong and great people who are just facing challenges that, if faced right and with a positive attitude, will only make us stroger.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Hi, thanks for adding me! :) You are so positive! You are right, God knows why this happens, I also pray for my hair to grow back. I'm also thankful that He's blessed me with so many supportive people! The picture of your shaved head is how mine is basically right now but I still haven't had the courage to shave it all off yet :S Thank you for reminding me that God loves us with or without hair because sometimes I forget. Take care and God bless!

Wow Nini,
What a great profile! Your positive words are the very thing I try to live by each day. While sometimes it becomes difficult, reading a story like yours is encouragement to all here at A.W.

I will hope that it does, but if it doesn't, you will be able to cope. There are gorgeous wigs out there, take a look at me! I'm old enough that if my own hair grew back it would be grey! No way do I want THAT hair back! As it is, I have my blond one, my highlighted brown one, etc! Plus, they are Freedom Hair vacuums, so I don't have to worry about them blowing off in the wind! I'm a happy camper. Life is more than your hair and whether it grows back or not, you have the strength to deal with it. I can tell from just looking at your beautiful face. I also just watched a video on youtube called 'alternative to wearing a wig' by Mary Marshall. She shows you how to tie these gorgeous Turkish scarves! It's fantastic. I'm not much of a scarf person myself - as I look like I'm wearing a babushka - but I know that a lot of people look exotic and beautiful in them!! Good Luck.
