The Movie "Beautifully Insecure"

"I really liked this movie.  It covers lots of issues:. Workplace bullying, new job, telling love interest about alopecia, loss, work discrimination, etc.  Well done."

Hi Nakia! Thanks for the friend request. I was 7 years old when I lost my hair.. I have 3 older brothers and I was the only girl, the baby of the family with alopecia. Growing up for me was difficult. I am really excited about your film and pray it will help others!

I was tired of hiding. I felt that I should be able to wear my hair bald if I chose just as I am able to wear a wig if I chose.my soul was yelling and crying out to be free. When I finally did IT,IT was sooo liberating!
I'm still adjusting. This is only my second week.
I'm adjusting to:
The loss of my hair
Seeing myself like this
People thinking I'm sick
Being misjudged
Not looking feminine
The right to be me without apology
At times it's a bitter sweet experience

I do suffer from alopecia. I'm on my second week of shaving my head completely and exposing myself as I am. I'm still adjusting.

I do think a film should be made on alopecia. It is a longtime coming and people don't.even know what it is.Yet most of us that have it where made fun of us most our lives.I would be very interested in helping to get it made so the public coyld see it.......Thanks,,,,Gary
