Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
I'm a divorced/single 54 year old female without children. I lost my hair in 2007 in a very quick 2 month time frame. I was so very surprised with this huge change in my physical change-total loss of body hair. WOW. Loss of husband and loss of hair at the same time. Almost 10 years later it still affects my self esteem and I still struggle but have accepted it and life goes on

Hey Margo,
Thank-you for your wonderful comments. You have fantastic photos on here and definitely look stunning in your scarves and hat. I am AU as well, and it began happening February 2009. I lost all my hair in about 3 months...shocking to say the least. I had bought this freedom piece and got it this past June. It really has been a boost for me. I am very active and hated being limited by my hairpiece. This freedom piece really does allow me to do everything...I have even waterskiied in it (while guests were over, otherwise I go bald or with a bandana)...it feels marvelous. Just loving it. If you have any other questions about it, I would be happy to help out. My dealer was Karen Peterik and her website is very informative plus has more gorgeous gals with our follicular-challenged state! Hope you are doing well and staying well.

Hello Margo,
I read your post on the Totalis Group. I’m sorry that you're having a tough time. I feel like you from time to time. I’m 46 and married with a great family. I stay grounded in this alopecia journey because I know in many ways I’m blessed. When the hair loss became harder to hide from my husband, I worried that I would lose him. I didn’t. When I revealed this to my daughters (13 and 20), I thought they would be horrified. They weren’t and as a matter of fact; they wanted me to ditch the wigs and flaunt my bald head. My young son didn’t want me to pick him up for a while, but one day when I was lying down, he kissed my head.
I say this to you because this life test of hair loss is mental. What you think will happen most of the time doesn’t happen. There are some men out there who are attracted to bald women because we’re bald (fetish). Then there are some amazing men who dig bald women because they are attracted to confident women. Don’t count yourself out on finding true love—he’s out there. This experience of alopecia forces you to change the way you see yourself and others. Be open to learn the lessons. I’m trying to do the same. I hope my words have given you some solace. Take care of yourself, we’ll talk again.

Hi Margo! Sorry I didn't get back to you right away! My status now is I am in remission I guess you could say. My hair loss started to slow down quite a bit and I was doing everything and anything in my power to try to out the breaks on it. I'm hoping that I can keep it at bay but I have read from a ton of people that mostly people get it again so I'm a little bit scared of what's around that corner, but I'm not trying to focus on that too much as you know that can really eat you alive inside and out!! So let me know what your status is now? Did you ever look up Angela? She even has her own website, I forgot the name of it now but I can send it to you. There is alot of good information on their about alopecia there too. Hope things are well with you! Talk soon!

Ha ha, yes, it would be perfect if it was just from the neck down -- or from the nose down since some women have mustaches!
