After I wash my hair in the shower and I' getting all the shampoo out, I end up taking clumps of hair out. Is this normal? It just started happening recently.

I have a slightly funny story today:)


So, on facebook, Alopecia Areata requested my friendship. I said yes and decided to check out the profile. Apparently, there is a herbal hair growth treatment that is all natural or whatever. I decided to humor them and went on to the site that ws posted. Gosh, I was in for a shock. 12000 dollars for one year of this treatment, that probably doesn't work. Dermatologist Results

So... I went to the Dermatologist for a checkup.





Nothing New. The cortizone shots caused a crop circle in the back of my head though. It looks like a smiley face. I only have to go back if I have any questions, or if I just want to say hello.

It's weird, but I have spots in the back of my head, with little tufts of hair here and there. I asked my mom if I could shave them off, but she laughed and said no. Ho-hum. The hair is really dumb though.

If you have a huge head like I do, it is SO hard to find hats. And especially if you're looking for regular hats in Winter. Everything we saw was either too small, or too wintery.

It seems that since I've been diagnosed with AA, everyone in my family is treaating me differently. Sometimes I just want to be treated like someone that isn't losing their hair. I have had Alopecia Areata since I was 2 years old... I am the only one in my school of over 450 kids who has it !! It is not a big deal anymore. Everyone knows me and I am pretty polular around school.... I really think it is because I am different !!
