About Me:
21 Female Oklahoma .. I am single with no kids, I work at a hospital. Everyone who meets me says that I have a very bubbly personality and I giggle a lot! I even have the nickname at work "Giggles". I love going out with my friends and going on dates! Love music, Concerts, Clubs/Bars, Movies, going to the lake and going to the park (just not on windy days)!! =P I try to make the best of my life, living with alopecia. Although, I have a very hard time talking about it with anyone other than close family.

I've had Alopecia for about 15 years! I got my first bald spot when I was 6 years old. My mom took me to the Dr. and he sent me to a Specialist. I was diagnosed with Alopecia Areota. He did a couple injections and my hair came back! I noticed small bald spots on the back of my head off and on throughout my childhood. Nothing I couldn't hide tho. When I was 14 years old I started to notice more and more bald spots and my beautiful hair was going... I went back to the specialist and he started doing the cortizone injections again. I did the injections for about a year and most of my hair came back in! It was DARK brunette and CURLY! ( I had always been a light brunette / Straight haired girl. I was 17 years old when ALL of my hair fell back out, very quickly! I was devastated.. I decided not to do the injections again. It was too painful and I felt as though it gave me a false hope. My parents found a place for me to go and look for a real hair wig and I did. I have been wearing that same wig since I was 18 years old and I am in the process of buying my 2nd wig. My eyebrows and eyelashes were the last to fall out. But they recently started growing back in!! I am so excited!!

Feel free to message me! I would love to hear your story!! :)

i think your a hottie now...lol. but fingers crossed you get you hair back. if you have seen my pic you know that i myself have no eyebrows but i just draw them on i figure if barbie can get away with the babydoll painted look i can..lol. and shes been around alot longer than i have...lol. and if you look close she has spots in her hair too...:). (only noticed b/c my lil girl has a couple). yeah i was tested for the same things and didnt have anything it was weird it ws like i wanted to have somethin g(cureable or at least treatable) i know that sounds horrible but it was like ok if i have something wrong then that would explain why this is happening to me (alopecia)....not just b/c my immuns system decieded to attack my hair..you know. i guess thats just my weird way of thinking..i just hate it when peole ask well why is this happening to you and all i can say is i am not sure could be a # of things and then they say well can it be cured (of course not not permently anyway) then of course comes well will this happen again and then you have to say i dont know at least if there was someting wrong it would give this crazy disorder a reason for happening you know. but either way i hope nothing is worng with you god knows you we have enough on our plate without something else going wrong with our crazy immune system...but best of luck in the eyelash department!!! i will keep my fingers crossed..keep in touch maybe we can swap stories from time to time..:) well have a good week! :)

thats cool. I tried to let a some people in at the last town that i lived, but a few bad eggs made it a pretty miserable experience for me. I have natural long curly red hair, so it was all anybody ever talked about anyway, so I guess when I lost it, it was truly the most entertaining thing that had happened since 1982 in that small town. If I were to give you advice, only tell your close family and people you trust, because they will always be on your side. And anything less than supportive is pretty useless. I originally didn't like this alopecia world thing but it is real nice to have some friends who understand I just wish we all lived a little closer!

hey thanks for the comment, it is good to hear what others have experienced as I begin my own journey through this process. So many decisions to make! I am so glad to hear that your eyelashes are coming back, that is wonderful. I hope that mine stay with me, I love wearing mascara! I am not using steroids myself. I have chosen to make very concious living and diet changes to help induce full body recovery, I am pretty confident that it will work. In the meantime it can get pretty tough. By the way your wig ( Iam asuming it is a wig) and eyerows look totally natural. well anyway have a great day!
