I havent been on here in probably the last year..Alot has happened. After all the stuff i dealt with with my molar pregnancy and chemo, a month later, i found out I was PREGNANT!! :) I had my beautiful baby girl August 20th. She is my world. She changed the way I look at myself and the world. My alopecia is not what defines me. I am an amazing mother, girlfriend, daughter, granddaughter regardless of my alopecia! I have beyond happy with my life!! My little girl Peyton Faith has made my life so… Continue

We move in Dec.27th. Im soo excited. I also bought a new wig, that I'm absolutely in love with!! Things are looking up!

Today is a good day. Im okay with being an alopecian. I have friends and family that love me unconditionally and support me, while I go through this lifelong journey. I couldnt be happier at… Continue

Not A Good Day

So as I said in my previous blog, im starting to lose my eyelashes..

I looked closely Im loosing more hair on one eye than the other. GREAT. What am I supposed to do when I have no eyelashes on one eye and some on the other? I hate this. I hate that Im going through this. My hair is falling out in clumps, which it's never really done before, the process of me losing my hair has been pretty slow. What am i doing to do? How do I live life like this?

I dont understand how one day I have… Continue

It's been awhile since I've blogged on here. My Mom was here for about a month, helping me out with my treatments, it was amazing having her here. So sad to see her go. I had such a good time with her though. For my birthday she got me tickets to see Girlicious, we were in front row! It was amazing.

So about my alopecia..I recently discovered, i am now losing some of my eyelashes :( I just wish this would all end. Anyways, Just letting everyone know whats going on...Here's a picture of me… Continue

Another Day..

I havent written a blog on here for awhile. Not much had gone on, until now.

In one of my other blogs, I had mentioned that I was going through a mild chemo for Molar Pregnancy.

Well, the treatments havent been working..So Im going on a stronger chemo, one thats going to make me sick, and tired, and yup..lose my hair. Im so scared. There's a few complications with this treatment that terrify me.

I also wonder how this is going to affect my alopecia. What if after it all falls… Continue

Awe, thanks so much. It's great to hear that you are moving on and so happy. I have been losing hair for about 2 months now. Not sure where this is going to lead me. I am taking vitamins and trying to stay away from wheat. I suspect a wheat allergy. I am so scared, not sure what to do and how to stop thinking about it all the time. Thanks for talking to me and being my friend. Do you have new pics of your wigs? I would love to see them. Where do you buy them from?

I have gone to Sir 101 from the beginning of my alopecia experience. However when I lived in Toronto and NY I found other places (pros & cons to anywhere). I have recently ordered another human hair wig in Edm from Sir 101 and it should be arriving shortly. I will keep you posted on the success. This time I got a full lace wig and they did a mold of my head to ensure perfect fit and secured to the head without glue or tape required. I am very excited. There is no doubt that human hair wigs cost more, but I personally find them to be more real looking, feeling and comfortable. They are lighter on the head and easier in various climates. Also you can curl, straigthen and style in any way you want. It's a personal choice I think.

Hey Chelsea,
Sorry it took me so long to reply, just been busy offline here. I did not have a good experience at The Wig boutique. The women was very rude about my desire to find human hair wigs. She talked to me like I was a child and like I did not know anything about alopecia. She later tried to convince me that synthetic hair was the only way to go and that human hair was "impossible" to get in Edm. Umm sorry lady, if you have internet access & visa, you can get whatever you want these days no matter where you live.
Anyways, it was not a place I was rushing to go back to. Instead I am currently waiting for my new human hair wig to come from another place in Edm. where I've had fantastic service and experiences from day one of hair loss. Take care.

Thanks for the info Chelsea. I guess I must have had a completely different experience at that place. I am happy to hear that you were able to find good people and good prices and an emotionally supportive experience overall. I will not be going back there again after my experience. It is always good to hear that things are improving in various places. All the best.

I am just wondering, where in Edmonton did you go for your wig? If you don't mind me asking, was it reasonably priced? It sounds like you had a good experience with that place. I'd be interested in checking it ou. Thanks.
