Aggravation

I hate when people ask why you shave your head . And then you try to explain to them that I have lost some of my hair , and shaving it is the best way to mask the affects of hairloss . And then they say " well you always had a full head of hair? So why is it falling out?" And they usually assume cancer right off the bat. I get mad but I try to be polite and tell them " no I do not have cancer , and I am not sick in any way shape or form , I am actually in better shape now that I have alopecia…See More

"Actually no , I very rarely get sick. I've had AA for two years now.  And I was told by my dermatologist that your immune system is actually on overdrive or overactive which is part of the reason alopecia is happening.  When your…"

Cause ?

I think it's funny how everyone categorizes Alopecia Areata ,Totalis, And Universalis as an Automune disease .  I'm not saying that it's not , but I was told by a number of specialists that it is just "believed " to be an autoimmune disorder.  I was told that there isn't 100 percent solid proof of it being autoimmune. I was told that the cause is unknown.  There are theories as to why it happens, autoimmune being one of them.  And I was told that research is still being done regarding the exact…See More

Autoimmune Protocol

Has anyone ever tried the Autoimmune Protocol diet? I was talking to a lady who had alopecia areata and reversed her hairloss and recovered all of her hair.  She deleted any food that might promote inflammation.  I have sort of tried it for a short time, but it's so difficult to follow. And the list of what not to eat is so overwhelming . Basically all you can eat is fruit vegetables chicken pork or beef which cant be cooked with anything other then olive oil coconut oil.  And you can eat green…See More
