This is a poem I wrote at my lowest point, it was the worst my alopecia had ever been. I felt lost, alone, and most of all- ugly. The alopecia seemed to highlight every other flaw I had.

Aside from my family nobody knew I had alopecia so I had to hide and pretend everywhere I went.

Also, I've never shared this with a single soul, so I'm a little goes nothing.

When attempting to hide Alopecia, it's imparative to avoid strange questions about your hair (wig,filled-in eyebrows, fake eyelashes, whatever it may be) especially from a crush or new boyfriend!

I've had Alopecia Areata for 7 years now, I've lost my hair and I've regrown it over and over again. Last January I lost about 80% of my locks to this hungry monster. I was at my lowest point, very was my senior year of High School, I was supposed to be having the time of my life not hiding in my room and shopping for wigs in another town.
