Need some advice!

Hi all

It's been a while since I have been on here, I have some solid hair growth in the initial area that fell out and it looks good, the rest is growing in patches. I cut the rest of all the straggly bits of hair which I'm glad because it has been really hot these past few weeks. I have had some good comments from those that have seen it, though I still have to wear my wig. Id say I need another 6 months for it to all grow and cover my head. Taking this step by step. :-)

Eczema and AA

Posted on October 6, 2012 at 8:52am 8 Comments

I have had eczema for 10 years, but have really struggled with it for the past 6 years. I have used creams and lotions as prescribed by my dermatologist.

I got so fed up with it last year and saw an allergist. I didn't show as having any allergies. The allergist suggested I could see a dietian.

I saw a dietitian in May 2011, I started a 6 week elimination diet. Basically cutting out lots of foods and get foods out of my system. This continued for a while, because I kept eating…

Getting positive comments and feeling better about myself

Posted on September 28, 2012 at 7:56am 4 Comments

So an update of what's going on with me. My hair is still falling out, though I have hair growth growing in patches.

I got my first wig in July 12, only a few people know about my alopecia.

This week I have had some amazing comments.

I went back to the lady who I purchased my HH wig, she was happy to see that I have been taking care of the piece and that it suits me.

I wanted her to trim her a bit and take some of the heaviness out which she did.

Today I went…

Dealing with alopecia and getting my first wig

Hi everyone..

I am new here, just wanted to share my story. I have had alopecia since October 2011. My hairdresser found a spot the size of a 5 cent piece. I started seeing a dermatologist and a trichologist. I too have been having monthly injections, however it was just getting worse. I was hopefull it would only be a few spots. I have cried heaps, kept it to myself with only a couple of friends knowing.

I would style my hair to cover the patches to the point I was combing my…

hi tulip,thanks for your comment.
i did a lot of reading about why my head hurt before a bald spot appeared and i learnt about inflamation of the body.i kinda worked out that if i controled the inflamation i could possibly stop hair falling out. anyway i read up on anti-inflamitory foods and discovered there is 1 way of geting rid of inflamation that is beter than any other drug or diet on the planet and that is.....intermittent fasting.
there is many diferent ways of doing intermittent fasting but basicly not overburdening the digestive system(where most of the immune system is based) will make the cells re-generate and repair.....it sounds too simple to be true but it worked for me and my skin looks much beter too. if you decide to give it a go let me know how you get on x

I am happy to help if I can. I got a complicated list of supplements and diet changes from my guy. I highly recommend him. He does phone consults, if you are interested. Diet alone will control candida, but won't get rid of it. Apparently it dies back in layers and returns if you cheat on the diet. I read about the black mold link, and I had one in my kitchen that I fixed around the same time I lost my hair. Makes me believe even more that my problem was fungal. If you want encouragment on this line pf attack for alopecia, I am happy to help.
